    The Employer and the Opportunity:

    The Orchard Tavern is looking for a Trainee Chef to work alongside other staff in their kitchen.  The Orchard Tavern is a local pub serving food from 12pm until 9pm weekdays and 12pm to 7pm Sundays.

    Key duties that go with this role:

    • Preparing and serving traditional pub fare, plus fresh daily specials and a fresh Sunday roast lunch.


    • The management are also offering the opportunity for training with JACE Training in their training kitchen, one day a week in Wallington.  You will be studying Food Safety, Health and Safety in the workplace and working as part of a Hospitality team as well as practical units preparing and cooking various food products.
    • You will be completing an NVQ Certificate in Food Production.

    Your journey to work each day. The Apprenticeship National Minimum Wage (ANMW): From April 2017 the ANMW was set at £3.50 per hour. This applies to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their Apprenticeship. For all other apprentices the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies. The Minimum Wage for Apprentices applies to time spent on the job plus time spent training.
